Saw Katherine Hepburn on A&E’s
Saw Katherine Hepburn on A&E’s Biography. She looked just like Parker Posey.
I wish Joyce had paid more attention to the Kate bit – she was writing a letter to Kroger about how crappy the Krappy Kroger is and that the Gay Kroger is much better (true).
I feel rewarded and justified when Fred (on XM) plays something from New Values or Party. The missing gospel of my hero, Iggy Pop.
I don’t know who the DJ is but on Fred – first Pumpin’ for Jill by Iggy, then American by Simple Minds. Followed by Summertime Rolls – Jane’s Addiction. This makes me happy.

Hit the Starlight Drive-In Saturday for 28 Days Later. It was very good – strong elements of Night of the Living Dead and Escape From New York, but not campy and still very stylish and disturbing. It’s hard to believe that people bring their children to this sort of movie at the drive-in. I think it’s wonderful that the Starlight packs in all six screens on the weekend. And I mean packed! Apparently there is a consultant named Ralph Nardoni that helps to restore and even build new drive-ins. I’m all for it.
Saw Punch Drunk Love Sunday night on DVD. This has got to be one of the strangest “Hollywood” films I have ever seen. Was it good? I think so. I’ve been a fool for Emily Watson ever since Breaking the Waves (with the late great Katrin Cartlidge). The film Hillary and Jackie with Emily and my other favorite Rachel Grifiths really shows both of their talents. I was so dissapointed in Watson’s Trixie, that I haven’t been following her much lately.
Had a good time at Piedmont Park for Pride Weekend. Joyce bought me a really cool sticker – W.W.J.J.D.? What would Joan Jett do? (Joan is one of my heros.) I’ll let you know when pictures go up. We didn’t see anything all that outrageous. Some interesting booths such as The Southeast Gay Rodeo Association and the Rainbow Trout (Masters swimming group). Saw a lot of what I would consider “country folk.” Many dykes with very frightening mullets. I’m sure Sunday’s parade offered some good sights, but we didn’t go.
Saturday morning I finished reading A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. I’m not much of a book reader, but I found this book to be incredibly intimate, painful, insightful, tragic, you name it. The end of the book nearly brought me to tears several times. This has never happened to me while reading a book. This book will make your problems seem like nothing.

So “sodomy” is finally legal for everyone! It’s interesting to listen to the people that oppose this. For some reason they think that the missionary position between married people of the opposite sex is the only way to avoid Hell.
Speaking of sodomy and Hell, I’m sure that the Atlanta Pride Festival will be very festive this weekend. I’ll be attending with Joyce, and Lisa and Lori Hall on Saturday afternoon. Pictures to come.
I’m in a fairly bad mood today. I’ve been trying to find a solution for getting my analog videos (old VHS tapes) into my computer. I think I’ve finally had it with Pinnacle. I’ve got a bid in at ebay on the Miglia Director’s Cut ‘Take 2′. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll probably opt for the Canopus ADVC-100. I really can’t afford this right now, but I have to have a reliable way to capture video without audio sync slippage so that I can hone my DVD production skills.
Found a very entertaining link while perusing Glampira’s Live Journal – Patty the Baiter. I laughed out loud at this one.
Calu and her fellow vixens The Doll Squad, are headed to one of my favorite places this weekend – Perdido Key, FL / Orange Beach, AL. I’m jealous. She says they just want to relax before their show at the Heavy Rebel Weekender, but something tells me that they’ll have a rip roarin’ good time.

A couple of interesting things from the Chalkhills mailing list:
It seems that there is to be an XTC DVD soon featuring all of the Virgin era videos. Yay!
Someone named “Hobbes” posted a funny comment on the new Blur album:
“Blur – Think Tank (I’m amazed at the good reviews this unfocused bore has received. I thought they were vanishing up their own arses with the last album, but with this one they take us all along for the ride!)”
This is fairly old at this point, but I think it would be great if “Urgh! A Music War” was released on DVD.
Yesterday I wrapped up as much of the Director/Flash project as possible. I’m getting a better handle on Flash. I’ve been using Flash on and off since Macromedia bought it from Future Splash, but I always poo-pooed it in favor of Director until Flash MX was released with it’s drastically enhanced version of ActionScript. I think that Flash is a good solution for the web, but Director is much more powerful for CD delivery. I get fairly sick of hearing Flash, Flash, Flash, all of the time. It is coming along, but until there is a more elegant way to deliver on CD (especially on the Mac side), and it has database capabilities (such as with the V12 Xtra), among other things, it will not be the Director killer that people have declared it to be. These products are quickly helping Flash along though – Jugglor and FM Projector.
I’ll finally be able to get onto the Mac for most of the day.

Well the Mac didn’t work out yesterday – font issues with moving a Windows created Flash file to Macintosh. Oh well.
How do you report credit history on a credit reporting agency when their invoices are 60 days overdue?
Posted a bunch of pictures from late last year.
Was taken with the Bonobo tracks played yesterday on The Daily Show with Claire Kember. I may try to pick it up when I’m able. I’m also curious about the Four Tet release that was mentioned on Esteban’s blog. I really need to update my Radio Free Darby web radio stream.
This morning I checked the tr webcam for the first time in several months. I was hoping to catch a glimse of the sassiness that is Claire Kember, but alas, the net camera position only shows the side of her head. That girl definitely has a head of hair.
Back to totallyradio this morning.
Back to totallyradio this morning. I love it.
For today, I’ve decided to use the Mac. Working Director with Flash – a “synergy” CD project for a huge global German firm with my old company HIP.
Still completely psyched about my interview at a newish Atlanta digital media production firm. They seem to have it all – video production, video post, interactive capabilities including CD multimedia as well as DVD. I’m excited about the possibility of learning Scenarist with them. I also have fantasies of helping to interface between the interactive side of things and the rest of the company.
