Darby's Getting Better

Darby had a fatty lump in his side which is pretty common in dogs I guess, but it had gotten infected and started draining fluid every couple of days. He had a hole the size of a pea in his side where the drainage was occurring and after two weeks of this the vet decided to take the tumor out.

Let me tell you, as you can see from the picture (not for the sqeamish), it was quite a shock picking Darby up last Friday and seeing that 8 inch incision. That, in combination with his lethargy really made feel sad. Within 18 hours though, he was bright-eyed and trying to get back to his usual routine.

Thanks for everyone who asked about him. It’s amazing how much you can love an animal.
